The cameras have stopped in New York. Out on a Limb, a small-scale romantic comedy made outside the major studios, has finished its shoot, Deadline reported on 16 September 2026.
Evan Oppenheimer wrote and directed the film. Filming is done. The production wrapped in New York after completing its scheduled location work there.
Jake Horowitz and Alice Nokes star in the film. They play the central pair around whom the story turns. Their casting puts two younger leads at the front of an ensemble with wider name recognition.
That ensemble includes Alfred Molina, Gaten Matarazzo, Lorraine Toussaint and Samuel Arnold in supporting roles. Each plays a supporting part in the story surrounding the two leads. The mix brings together screen veterans and younger performers in the same cast.
The plot starts with a fib. An insecure MBA student fakes a broken ankle and then poses as a medical student to impress a free-spirited woman who lives for music and dancing. His behaviour sets up the comedy, as one false claim forces another.
Kirrilee Berger and Julia Abueva also appear in the cast. Their roles complete the line-up announced for the production. No further character details were disclosed in the announcement.
