Meghann Fahy to Star as Rory in Smokeshow Limited Series

Meghann Fahy will play a covert operative drawn to her target in Smokeshow, a limited series — meaning a story planned for one season with an ending — in development at SK Global and David E. Kelley Productions.
Deadline reported on 17 September 2026 that Fahy has signed to star as Rory. The series is based on the upcoming novel of the same name by Catriona Stewart. The producers acquired the project after a highly competitive bidding war, with several parties chasing the rights.
The story centres on Rory. She is a covert operative. Her mission brings her into contact with Nolan, the man she is meant to watch, and the two become entangled.
Kirstie Swain is adapting Stewart's book for television. Random House is due to publish the novel next summer, ahead of any screen version.
Fahy is also producing the series. She joins David E. Kelley, Matthew Tinker and Shelby Leshine as producers for David E. Kelley Productions. For SK Global, Head of Television Chloe Dan and Trish Esselen are overseeing the project for the studio.
There is no channel or streamer yet. The package is expected to be pitched to buyers in the coming weeks, which will decide where the series lands and when it can go into production.
Fahy is a two-time Emmy nominee known for Sirens and The White Lotus. Stewart, the author behind the book, is a San Francisco-based communications strategist.
For viewers, this means a wait. Casting and producers are set, but a buyer, filming dates and a release window are still to come.
