Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch's Pay Dips to $31 Million for 2026

Lachlan Murdoch earned $31 million as chief executive of Fox Corp in fiscal 2026, down from $33 million the year before.
The figure comes from company paperwork reported on 17 September. Fox set out the pay in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the body that oversees listed companies and their disclosures, as reported by Deadline.
Of that total, $3 million was base salary. The filing also covers other senior leaders and lays out the organisation's pay programme, which Fox has described as a way to link executive rewards to company performance.
Fox president and chief operating officer John Nallen received $18.1 million in fiscal 2026. That was up from $15.3 million in fiscal 2025.
Murdoch has led Fox Corp as chief executive since October 2018 and as executive chair of the board since January 2019. He signed a contract extension in June to stay on as chief executive into 2030, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Fox has scheduled its annual shareholder meeting for 4 November. It will be held virtually at 10 a.m. ET. Shareholders use that meeting to vote on company business, including an advisory vote on executive pay.
What puts this disclosure in focus is the timing. The pay numbers landed while regulators are looking closely at Fox's planned $22 billion deal for Roku, the streaming platform and device maker.
The US Department of Justice is widening its antitrust inquiry into that deal, as reported by Semafor and covered by Reuters. Fox had agreed to pay $160 in cash and stock for each Roku share, a 34% premium to Roku's undisturbed price, according to Breaking Views.
For viewers, none of this changes what is on screen this week. It decides who runs the company that commissions and schedules those shows, and for how long.
