Tenzin Dalha revealed as male lead opposite Swastika Mukherjee in Chheledhora
Tenzin Dalha has been revealed as the male lead of the Bengali-language thriller Chheledhora opposite Swastika Mukherjee, according to Variety.
The announcement was reported on Sept. 18, as Dalha attended the Toronto Film Festival with Tenzing, Jennifer Peedom's Apple Original Film. His name was held back. When Chheledhora was first announced earlier in 2026, only Mukherjee was named.
Chheledhora is written and directed by Shieladitya Moulik. Mukherjee plays Brishti, a divorced mother who takes her own daughter for a birthday outing before the child is genuinely abducted.
The production was filmed extensively in Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh and is now in post-production, the editing and finishing stage after shooting ends. Italian cinematographer Vincenzo Condorelli shot the film. It is produced by Ann Mukherjee for Sita22 Films, with Jitin Hingorani as co-producer and creative producer.
The project was first presented as an Indo-American co-production, according to Variety. At that stage, principal photography was scheduled to begin on March 1, with location work planned in Itanagar and Ziro.
Dalha's festival trip puts two very different jobs side by side. Tenzing centres on mountaineer Tenzing Norgay, played by Genden Phuntsok, with Tom Hiddleston, Willem Dafoe and Caitríona Balfe also in the cast. The film begins a limited theatrical run on Oct. 9 before streaming globally on Apple TV on Oct. 16.
At Toronto, Tenzing screened in Gala Presentations, a showcase section, and was listed as its Canadian premiere, according to TIFF. The festival lists it as a 2026 co-production between the United States of America and Australia, in English, with a runtime of 125 minutes.
For audiences, this means a quick introduction. Dalha arrives in Toronto as part of an English-language mountain story, then moves into a Bengali-language thriller built around a missing child.
