A Simple Soldier Secures Multi-Region Release Via Jolt, Propagate

Jolt and Propagate Content will release Ukraine war documentary A Simple Soldier across five regions.
The partnership covers North America, the UK, Australia, Latin America and Asia, as reported by Deadline on 18 September 2026. It sets a path that runs from cinemas to digital viewing.
The film follows Ukrainian filmmaker and cinematographer Artem Ryzhykov as he leaves his work behind the camera to join the frontlines after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It was shot over three and a half years. It was directed by Ryzhykov and Juan Camilo Cruz, according to Deadline.
The release plan includes Academy-qualifying theatrical screenings, the limited cinema runs that can make a documentary eligible for Oscars consideration. Jolt, which specialises in data and audience demand-led releases, will also handle a TVOD window on Jolt.film, where viewers rent or buy the film one title at a time, alongside digital aggregation, the process of placing it on download and streaming stores.
An impact campaign will sit alongside the commercial release. In North America, that includes community screenings led by Ukrainian-American diaspora organisations.
Ryzhykov, Cruz, Howard T. Owens and Ben Silverman are credited as producers. Owens is co-founder and co-CEO of Propagate Content. Executive producers are James Packer, John Battsek, Marcel Mettelsiefen, Andrew D. Corkin, Catalina Ramirez and Jonathan Schaerf, as listed by Deadline. Tara Hein-Phillips is CEO and co-founder of Jolt.
For viewers, this means the rollout will not follow a single opening weekend. Expect festival-style qualifying shows, local community dates and then digital availability through Jolt's platform.
