All Nippon Airways has given Pokémon fans a new way to fly, down to the paper cups.

The Green Pokémon Jet made its inaugural flight from Haneda to Honolulu on 18 September 2026, built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Pokémon, the monster-catching games series that grew into films, television and merchandise. GameSpot

The aircraft wears a green livery, the paint design on the outside of the plane, covered in Pokémon characters. Inside, the theme continues. Headrest covers, paper cups and napkins all carry Pokémon designs.

Entertainment is part of the package too. Passengers can watch Pokémon: The First Movie and listen to a best-of soundtrack covering 1997 to 2023 as in-flight entertainment.

The jet is not staying on one route. Alongside Haneda, ANA lists stops at airports in Okinawa, Kyushu and Shikoku for the Pokémon plane, with international flights for its Pokémon Jets scheduled to begin on 18 September 2026. ANA

The Green jet is one of three. ANA's 30th anniversary programme includes Red, Green and Blue Pokémon Jets, with three new liveries scheduled to enter service in 2026. Two of the other aircraft have been named as the Pikachu Jet NHJ and the Eevee Jet NHJ.

This is not ANA's first Pokémon flight. Flights of the first Pikachu Jet BC started in June 2021, followed in March 2023 by two more Pokémon-themed jets with liveries designed especially for ANA, including the Pikachu Jet NH. In 2024, the airline also created a Pokémon-themed in-flight safety video.

The Red jet has its own tie-in. ANA announced a collaboration with Pokémon GO, the mobile game where players catch creatures at real-world locations, to celebrate the launch of the Red Pokémon Jet, with PokéStops and Gyms linked to the celebration starting 28 July 2026.

For fans, this means the journey is part of the event. It is a scheduled flight with a full cabin theme, a film many viewers will know by heart, and music spanning more than 25 years of the series.
