Kazimierska pips Hunter Bell in Athlos London mile thriller
Poland's Klaudia Kazimierska struck in the final strides to win the Athlos mile in London in 4:19.43 on 18 September 2026.
Great Britain's Georgia Hunter Bell finished second in 4:19.54, just 0.11 seconds behind. It was that close. Dorcus Ewoi was third in 4:19.84, according to results listed by FloTrack.
The race was run at StoneX Stadium in Hendon, London. The mile, 1,609m or just over four laps of a standard track, closed the women's distance programme at Athlos London 2026.
Bell led into the closing stages, as reported by World Athletics. Kazimierska held her position and then moved past approaching the line, footage published by the BBC shows. Bell had no room to respond.
Behind the top three, the gaps grew. Nikki Hiltz finished fourth in 4:22.72 and Jessica Hull was fifth in 4:24.27.
Athlos London 2026 staged seven events: 100m hurdles, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, mile and long jump, according to ATHLOS. Winners received the Athlos crown designed by Tiffany & Co. First place paid $65,000, with $35,000 for second and $20,000 for third.
The series operates on an athlete-ownership model fronted by Gabby Thomas, Tara Davis-Woodhall and Sha'Carri Richardson. Thomas won 200m gold and Davis-Woodhall won long jump gold at the 2024 Olympics.
What makes this stand out is the compression at the front. Three women under 4:20.00, separated by less than half a second after more than four minutes of running. That is precision under fatigue, and Kazimierska judged it best.
