Demons go 6-0 as AFLW's last unbeaten side

Melbourne is the last unbeaten team in the AFLW. The Demons beat Carlton 8.10 (58) to 3.6 (24) at Casey Fields on 19 September to move to 6-0 and take top spot after six rounds, according to ABC News.

The 34-point margin came from midfield control. Tyla Hanks had 32 disposals — kicks and handballs combined — and kicked a goal. Olivia Purcell added 26 disposals and two goals.

Melbourne lost forward Georgia Gall to an ankle injury in the third quarter. She limped off and did not return. There was a bright note late. Jorja Livingstone kicked a goal on debut in the final quarter.

Carlton slipped to 4-2. It was the Blues' second loss in a row. Claudia Whitfort led them with 24 disposals.

Geelong kept pace with a big win at Victoria Park. The Cats beat Collingwood 14.6 (90) to 7.7 (49) for their fifth straight victory to improve to 5-1.

Chloe Scheer kicked four goals and Aishling Moloney kicked three. Nina Morrison collected 30 disposals and Mikayla Bowen had 29. Georgie Prespakis added 12 clearances, the clean first ball out of a stoppage.

Collingwood is now 0-6. The Magpies gave Olivia Lewis a debut after her switch from Super Netball's Melbourne Mavericks. She was a late call-up because Bri Davey was ill, then kicked a goal.

Sydney had to work harder. The Swans beat Port Adelaide 5.11 (41) to 3.9 (27) at Alberton Oval by 14 points. Scores were locked at 16-16 at half-time.

Chloe Molloy kicked three goals for the Swans. Zippy Fish had 26 disposals and Montana Ham had 16 possessions. Sydney moved to 5-1. Port fell to 2-4 despite a match-high 27 disposals and 415 metres gained from Abbey Dowrick.

The Western Bulldogs also banked an important win. They beat Fremantle 6.4 (40) to 4.6 (30) to improve to 4-2.
