Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo arrives 1 October, progress carries to launch
Konami will release a playable demo for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse on 1 October 2026, two weeks before the full game is released on 15 October.
The demo will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Konami announced the plan on 20 September 2026, according to Video Games Chronicle.
The trial covers the opening chapter of the game, as listed on Konami's demo page. That means players start at the beginning. They get the first section of the story and systems before deciding whether to buy the full version.
Progress carries over. Players can retain save data from the demo and transfer it to the full game. They can then pick up where they left off when the complete release arrives, according to Nintendo Everything.
There is one condition. The demo and the full game must be played on the same platform and with the same account. A save started on Switch cannot move to PlayStation, for example, and a different user profile will not pick it up.
Belmont's Curse is a 2D action-exploration game, a style viewed from the side where players fight enemies and gradually unlock new routes across a connected map. The story depicts the growth of Rose Belmont. Konami has not shared further plot detail in the materials released so far.
Ahead of the home demo, the game will receive its first playable outing in Japan at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event is Japan's large annual public games showcase, where publishers offer hands-on trials on the show floor. Konami advertises the Belmont's Curse trial on its Tokyo Game Show page.
Visitors who play the demo at the Castlevania booth will receive a keepsake. Konami describes it as a Tarot Card Acrylic Stand, a small display item. The English-language Castlevania account separately notes that booth players will receive a tarot card.
For fans, this means a simple path through October. Try the opening when the demo is released on 1 October. Keep the save. Return for the full release on 15 October without replaying the start.
