Meghan Markle joins Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi for Cotswolds pub outing
Meghan Markle has been photographed on a quiet pub outing in the Cotswolds with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
The pictures show the Duchess of Sussex at the Three Horseshoes in Burford. They were obtained by Page Six and published while Prince Harry was working in London, according to HELLO!.
Timing did the talking. Harry was at the Royal Lancaster Hotel on Monday 21 September for the 2026 WellChild Awards. He spoke to HELLO! on the red carpet. Organisers had confirmed only shortly before that Meghan would not join him that evening.
It was a rare sighting. Meghan, 45, travelled to Britain with Harry and touched down at Birmingham Airport on 26 August. She has kept a low profile since. Her appearance in Burford is the clearest public glimpse of her time in the country.
Her company was no surprise. DeGeneres and de Rossi are neighbours of the Sussexes in Montecito in California and are now also neighbours of sorts in England. The couple relocated from the United States to the Cotswolds in November 2024. They had reportedly purchased their secluded farmhouse before the 2024 presidential election and opted to make the move permanent after Donald Trump was voted in. Meghan is described as close to DeGeneres.
Harry was in London in a long-held role. He is Patron of WellChild, the charity's public figurehead. WellChild supports seriously ill children and their families across the United Kingdom. Its annual awards celebrate the courage of those children and thank the doctors, nurses, carers and families around them.
This year's ceremony took place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Monday 21 September, according to WellChild. It was held in association with the healthcare company GSK. Harry has attended many times and presents prizes to winners chosen after a nationwide search. Nominations for the 2026 awards closed on 16 March.
The visit itself was a joint one. Harry returned to Britain with Meghan, as reported by People. They have divided the diary so far.
For fans, this means two different snapshots of the same trip. One formal night in London. One relaxed afternoon in the pub.
