Jacksepticeye says he is 'vibe-checker' producer on R-rated Bloodborne movie

Seán McLoughlin, known online as Jacksepticeye, calls his job as a producer on the R-rated Bloodborne movie being a “vibe-checker”.
He said the role means weighing in on good and bad ideas. It also means helping decide who gets hired, to make sure there is a proper vetting process. A producer is the behind-the-scenes role that helps guide creative choices, hiring and production.
McLoughlin discussed the part during an appearance on 100 Questions with Tom Simons, GameSpot reported. The full interview was published on 15 September 2026 under the title “I asked Jacksepticeye 100 Questions about MrBeast, Bloodborne Movie, AI & Grief”. The show limits the host to 100 questions per guest and ends when the questions run out, with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.
A short clip from that conversation, titled “Jacksepticeye gives an update on the Bloodborne movie...”, was also published on 15 September 2026. It focuses on his update about the film project.
The reaction was blunt. McLoughlin said 80% of the responses to his involvement were critical, GamesRadar reported. He heard it.
He describes himself as a Bloodborne fanatic, according to IGN. His stated ambition is to honour the Bloodborne universe and tell as good a story as he can inside it. He does not want to make the film become the game. He does not want to try to one-up the game either.
PlayStation Productions is involved as a producer on the film alongside McLoughlin. That is the PlayStation screen arm that adapts its games for film and television.
For fans, this means the pitch is care over control. McLoughlin is presenting himself less as the person running the set and more as a fan in the room, there to flag what feels wrong.
