Cardi B says third album is coming in 2027

Cardi B is already working on her third album and expects to release it in 2027.
The rapper shared the plan with The Breakfast Club after her set at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 18, according to Billboard. She said the new record is at a very early stage. She has about two songs she likes so far.
Her timetable is clear. After her birthday in November, she plans to go away to record the album. That would put the writing and recording work into late this year and next year, ahead of a 2027 release.
The interview came just as her last album reached a milestone. Am I the Drama?, her second album, celebrated its first anniversary on Sept. 19.
That album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 200,000 album-equivalent units, the measure that converts streams and sales into album sales. Cardi B had announced it by revealing its cover art and release date on social media, as reported by Rolling Stone.
She has stayed active since then. In July 2026 she released “AH HA” as her first single of the year. The track reached the top 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, the chart that ranks songs in the United States.
It also brought her a best hip-hop nomination at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
For fans, this means a shorter wait could be on the cards. Her second album arrived seven years after her debut, but work on the follow-up is already under way.
