Netflix has commissioned Optomen to make My Big Day, a feature-length documentary about weddings in Britain's traveller community. The title is provisional, according to Variety.

A commission means Netflix has ordered the film to be made for its service. The announcement was reported on Sept. 22, 2026.

My Big Day is planned as a single film, rather than a series released in episodes. It will follow young couples as they prepare to marry. That build-up, from family preparations to the ceremony itself, will form the spine of the story.

Jonny Ashton is directing the film. Tyler Knight is producing.

Optomen co-CEOs Nick Hornby and Tina Flintoff are attached as creative directors. In unscripted television, that role means guiding the editorial shape and look of a production alongside the director and producer.

Optomen sits inside Banijay Entertainment, the international production group that owns a large stable of unscripted labels. The company has an existing relationship with Netflix. It made At Home With the Furys for the streamer.

That series follows boxer Tyson Fury, his wife Paris and their children at home. It is a docuseries, meaning a factual show told across several episodes rather than in one film.

A third series of At Home With the Furys has been renewed and is now in production. Renewal means the show has been ordered to continue for another run. Production means crews are currently filming or finishing new episodes.

The Fury family has also had a wedding of its own this year. Venezuela Fury, the daughter of Tyson and Paris Fury, got married earlier this year in an event that drew media attention.

That wedding is expected to feature in an upcoming episode of At Home With the Furys. For viewers, this means two separate wedding stories from connected worlds. One plays out inside an established series. The other gets its own film.

What makes this stand out is the focus. My Big Day stays with young couples in the lead-up to the day itself. No transmission date has been reported.
