Mary Beth Barone and Joe Alwyn to Lead New York Romance Still We Met

Mary Beth Barone and Joe Alwyn will star opposite each other in Still We Met, an indie romantic comedy written by Barone, as reported as an exclusive by Deadline.
Barone wrote the script. It is an original story loosely inspired by her own experiences, according to the same report.
The film follows a young woman at a crossroads. She meets a charming British stranger. The pair then spend one unforgettable night wandering New York.
Zackary Drucker will direct. It will be her first scripted feature, after work in documentary and television, Deadline reported. Drucker is an Emmy nominee.
Production is set to begin this autumn in New York. The city is also where the story takes place.
Behind the camera, the producing team is spread across three companies. Jack Heller and Caitlin de Lisser-Ellen are producing for Assemble Media, with Madison Wolk co-producing for the company. Alex Bach and Daniel Powell are producing for Irony Point.
Lena Dunham and Michael Cohen are executive producing under their Good Thing Going banner, a senior credit that usually means backing a film creatively or financially without day-to-day control. Blake Mars is co-producing for Good Thing Going, Deadline reported.
What makes this stand out is the mix. A comedian-writer leading her own love story, a British co-star as the stranger, and a first-time feature director taking charge of a small, New York-shot romance.
