Anthology of Style Hosts Vintage Gala at Frick Collection

Chanel jackets stood among old master paintings at The Frick Collection in New York on Friday night.
The takeover was the work of Anthology of Style, the New York City-based social-commerce company and content platform that sells through social media and publishes fashion stories. It held its gala at the museum to kick off a weekend of fashion events, according to reporting by WWD.
The company was founded in 2021 by Kimberly Alpert, who is its chief executive officer. In 2024 it opened a so-called mini museum in Dumbo, Brooklyn, a showroom styled like a small museum where clients can view and buy pieces.
Inside the Frick, guests found mannequins dressed in curated Chanel jackets placed among the artworks. The evening included floral cocktails and a seated dinner. Short and sweet. Very photogenic.
The party celebrated the third AOS museum collection, the company said on Instagram. On another post it called the night a fancy little fashion party. Coverage syndicated by Yahoo described the aim as celebrating its community and love of vintage.
The fun did not stop at dinner. On the Saturday and Sunday after the gala, Anthology of Style organised private shopping and museum viewing appointments at its Brooklyn mini museum.
That mix of museum and shop is the business model. Anthology of Style curates vintage Chanel handbags, clothing and jewellery alongside select ready-to-wear and accessories from Balenciaga, Miu Miu, Celine and Prada. Alpert hosts live resale shopping videos on Instagram twice a week, on Tuesday afternoon and evening and on Thursday evening, where viewers can buy secondhand pieces in real time.
What makes this stand out is the setting. A night among paintings gives secondhand fashion a formal frame. For fans, this means vintage shopping presented as a cultural evening out, not just a scroll through listings.
