Duane "Keffe D" Davis's conviction for orchestrating the killing of rapper Tupac Shakur is heading to the screen in a new feature documentary due in 2027.

Propagate Content and Passion Pictures have greenlit the untitled project, which follows Davis's trial and guilty verdict in Las Vegas. Director Marian Mohamed is attached to direct, Billboard reported on 23 September 2026.

The film is planned as a feature documentary for television. It is slated to air in 2027 on Sky Documentaries and NOW in the United Kingdom.

The documentary will include contributions and interviews from Mopreme Shakur, Tupac Shakur's brother. Further casting, archive material and access have not yet been detailed.

The case behind the film closed a file that had been open for three decades. Shakur was shot in September 1996 and died from his injuries. No one had been convicted over the killing until this year.

On 31 August 2026, a Las Vegas jury found Davis guilty of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon for orchestrating the shooting. The verdict was the first conviction in the Shakur killing case.

Davis is 63 and was described in court coverage as a former gang leader. Prosecutors argued he ordered the attack. Jurors deliberated after a two-week trial.

That trial opened with statements from both sides, followed by heated testimony in its first week. Jurors also heard a tape recording of Davis discussing the killing, Billboard reported during the proceedings.

The prosecution's case moved to the jury after the second week of evidence and closing arguments. The guilty verdict came shortly after, Billboard reported on 31 August.

Davis is scheduled to be sentenced on 13 October. He faces up to life in prison.

What makes this stand out is speed. The verdict was delivered at the end of August. The screen account was confirmed within weeks, before sentencing has taken place.

For viewers, this means the story will arrive while court proceedings are still fresh. The 2027 air date leaves time for the sentence and any further legal steps to be folded into the film.
