Justin Bieber turned a regular Tuesday in Los Angeles into a singalong on Sept. 22, with a surprise jam session in MacArthur Park. The singer set up in the open in the afternoon and played for passers-by who stopped and gathered round. The music started at around 1:45 p.m., according to Yahoo.

Word spread fast. Video from the park showed a loose circle forming around Bieber as he sat with a small group of musicians. There was no ticket gate and no set time published in advance, with details confirmed by Billboard.

Bieber stayed seated for much of the session. For “Let Me Love You,” he kept the beat on a cajon, a box-shaped drum played with the hands, while singing along with the group.

The set mixed older material with newer songs. Alongside “Let Me Love You,” he performed “Speed Demon,” “All I Can Take” and “Yukon,” according to Billboard. He also sang “Yukon” and “Daisies” during the afternoon jam.

The park appearance follows a long pause from full-scale touring. Bieber postponed and then cancelled his Justice World tour in 2023 while dealing with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a disorder that briefly caused partial facial paralysis.

Unannounced appearances have become part of his pattern. In March 2023, he joined Don Toliver during Toliver’s Rolling Loud set to perform “Private Landing” together, as reported by Rolling Stone.

What makes this stand out is the setting. MacArthur Park is a public city park west of downtown Los Angeles, a long way from an arena with security lanes and seat maps. For fans, this meant hearing the songs up close, without a ticket.
