1-2 Special has released a trailer for Closure, a documentary about a father's search for his missing teenage son, ahead of its opening in United States theatres on 28 October, Deadline reported.

The film was directed by Michał Marczak. It follows Daniel Dymiński as he looks for his son Chris, who vanished from a bridge over the Vistula River in Warsaw.

Chris, whose full name is Krzysztof, was 16 when he disappeared in 2023, according to POV Magazine and the International Documentary Association. The trailer centres on one brief trace. Chris was spotted on Gdańsk Bridge by rotating security cameras. He was gone when the cameras returned after several minutes, Deadline reported.

1-2 Special acquired the United States rights to the film, the licence to release it in America, Variety reported in August. The documentary had its world premiere in competition at the Sundance Film Festival.

Since Sundance, the film has played a long festival run. It won the Golden Alexander at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival and took multiple prizes at Millennium Docs Against Gravity in Poland, including the Silesian Audience Award, Deadline reported. It also screened at Sheffield DocFest, DC/DOX, True/False and Doc10.

What makes this stand out is its shape. There is no resolution to explain. The story stays with the search itself, and with a parent living without answers.

Deadline describes Closure as a contender for Oscar consideration as the awards season approaches. The United States theatrical release begins on 28 October.
