The Love Hypothesis lands on Prime Video with Gracie Abrams opener
The fake relationship is now streaming. The Love Hypothesis premiered 23 September on Prime Video and is available globally on the service, according to Amazon.
The film is an adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's best-selling romance novel, as reported by Deadline. It was directed by Claire Scanlon. It runs 1 hour 52 minutes and is listed by Prime Video as a comedy for a young adult audience.
Lili Reinhart stars as Olive Smith, a brilliant Ph.D. candidate focused on her future in academia, according to Amazon MGM Studios. Tom Bateman plays Dr. Adam Carlsen. Their mutual need for a fake relationship turns into an experiment in chemistry.
The lab circle fills out the story. Arty Froushan plays Dr. Tom Benton. Jaboukie Young-White plays Malcolm, Olive's roommate. Nicholas Duvernay plays Jeremy and Rachel Marsh plays Ahnn.
Music does a lot of the early work. "Mess It Up" by Gracie Abrams kicks off the film, Deadline reports. The wider soundtrack includes "Cowboy" by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, "Gone" by Haim, "I'm Still Here" by Katie Garfield and "It's Real" by Real Estate.
It keeps going. The list also features "Make Out Room" by MANICS, "Sidelines" by Cole Simon, "The Gattaca Blues" by The Veldt, "Until We Get There" by Lucius and "Bounce To This" by Freestylers feat. Alaska MC.
Two needle drops are tied to specific moments. Jeremy and Ahn sing a karaoke version of "Head Over Heels" by The Go-Go's. A Selena Gomez song soundtracks the Chapter 16 scene.
For fans, this means the book-to-screen wait is over. Search The Love Hypothesis on Prime Video and press play.
