Romeo Santos and Prince Royce are back on top of US Latin radio.

"Ay! San Miguel" climbed 2-1 to No. 1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart dated 26 September, the weekly ranking based on plays on Spanish-language radio stations in the US. Billboard

The duet drew 7.2 million audience impressions, the estimate of how many listeners heard it on air, in the tracking week ending 17 September, according to Luminate. That was up 16% on the previous week. It reached the top after six weeks in the chart's top 10.

It replaces KAROL G and Ryan Castro's "Chevere", which fell to No. 10 after one week at No. 1.

"Ay! San Miguel" is the third Latin Airplay No. 1 from the pair's joint album Better Late Than Never. The album came out in November 2025 and debuted at No. 2 on Top Latin Albums and No. 1 on Top Tropical Albums in December, Billboard reported.

The new leader extends two long counts. It is Santos's 25th No. 1 on Latin Airplay and Royce's 22nd.

That keeps Santos ahead as the tropical act — shorthand for artists rooted in styles such as bachata, salsa and merengue — with the most No. 1s on the chart. Royce sits second on that same list. Across all acts, J Balvin leads with 40 No. 1s.

The song is also holding on a second chart. It spent a seventh straight week at No. 1 on Billboard's Tropical Airplay, which tracks airplay on tropical-format stations.

Its predecessors stayed even longer there. "Lokita Por Mi" led Tropical Airplay for 13 weeks in 2025-26, while "Dardos" led for nine weeks. Both also reached No. 1 on Latin Airplay.

The sequence shows the climb. "Lokita Por Mi" gave Santos his 23rd No. 1 and Royce his 20th, before "Dardos" also went to No. 1 on Latin Airplay.

The album made a fast start elsewhere too. Nine of its songs entered Hot Latin Songs together in December, a career-high simultaneous debut for both singers. Hot Latin Songs blends streaming, digital sales and radio airplay to rank Latin songs in the US.

Santos and Royce have taken the partnership on the road. They played to 54,000 people on 25 July at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid, Billboard reported.

What makes this stand out is the steadiness. Three singles in, the joint project is still adding radio weeks rather than fading.
