Zazie Beetz and Ben Foster join Paramount+ thriller Discretion

Zazie Beetz, Ben Foster, Stella Baker and John Hoogenakker have joined the Paramount+ series Discretion as recurring cast members. Deadline reported the four castings as an exclusive.
Details of their roles are under wraps. A recurring role, meaning an actor appears across multiple episodes without leading the series, keeps those parts hidden for now. Cameras are already rolling.
The four join a previously announced lead cast of Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Josh Lucas, Colton Ryan and Stephan James. Fanning plays Lenny, a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm. Kidman plays Sharon, the firm’s most powerful female partner.
Discretion is an eight-episode legal thriller. It is adapted from writer Chandler Baker’s short story of the same name and follows Lenny’s arrival at the Dallas firm.
Baker wrote the series and serves as an executive producer. Susannah Grant is also an executive producer. Matt Shakman will direct the first four episodes and serves as an executive producer.
Paramount+ gave the project a straight-to-series order, meaning no pilot is shot first, with Kidman and Fanning attached to star, Variety reported in October 2025. The series comes from studio A24, according to earlier trade reporting.
For viewers, this means the ensemble is still growing while production is under way. Discretion is expected to premiere in 2027.
