Judith Light Joins Shrinking Season 4 in Recurring Role

Judith Light has joined Shrinking for Season 4 in a recurring role, meaning she will appear across multiple episodes without joining the main cast.
Variety, which broke the news as an exclusive it learned itself on 24 September, reports that exact character details are being kept under wraps.
Light joins a returning ensemble that includes Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell and Ted McGinley.
Season 4 had already added Christian Slater and Karen Gillan to its guest line-up. Gillan is set to appear in a recurring role, according to Shortlist. Variety reports that details for all the new additions remain under wraps.
The new season will stay with the same cast and characters but shift forward in time. Variety reports it will feature a time jump and an entirely new storyline.
For viewers, this means more new faces around the therapy practice at the centre of the show. Light is a familiar screen and stage presence, and her role is one of the few new pieces confirmed so far.
Light won the 2023 Emmy Award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy for Poker Face. She also won back-to-back Tony Awards in 2012 for Other Desert Cities and in 2013 for The Assembled Parties.
She will also appear in Presumed Innocent Season 2 on Apple TV. Light is repped by Gersh, Brillstein Entertainment and PMK Entertainment.
Shrinking was created by Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel and Brett Goldstein. Warner Bros. Television is the studio behind the series.
