Karol G Leads 2026 HEAT Latin Music Awards With 10 Nominations
Karol G leads the 2026 HEAT Latin Music Awards with 10 nominations, putting her ahead of the field as the show prepares for its first edition in Mexico.
The nominees were unveiled on Sept. 24, with Karol G on top, followed by Bad Bunny with nine nominations and Carlos Rivera and Shakira with seven each, according to the nominations list published by Billboard.
Karol G's nominations include Album of the Year for Tropicoqueta, Best Female Artist and Best Urban Artist. She is also nominated for Best Viral Song with “Bby WOW”.
The 2026 edition is titled HEAT Latin Music Awards al Estilo Jalisco. It will be held on Nov. 5 at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. That is a first. The awards have not previously been hosted in Mexico.
The show is organised in collaboration with the government of Jalisco and the municipality of Puerto Vallarta. The ceremony will be streamed live on LosHeat.tv, giving viewers outside the room a way to watch in real time.
The awards sit inside a wider week of events. HEAT Week tied to the 2026 awards will run from Oct. 31 to Nov. 5. That schedule covers concerts, industry meetings and fan events leading into the ceremony night.
What makes this stand out for fans is the concentration at the top. Four names account for 33 nominations between them. Karol G holds 10 of those places, which leaves little room for movement in the main artist categories.
For newcomers, the HEAT Latin Music Awards are an annual fan-voted celebration of Latin music, covering pop, urban, regional and tropical acts. Winners are decided by public vote rather than an industry academy, so nomination counts shape the campaign ahead.
