Strange New Worlds Ends Season 4 With an Uhura-to-Uhura Call Across Time

Lt Uhura just spoke to herself across 60 years of Star Trek.
The Season 4 finale of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is titled “Tomorrow’s Enterprise.” It is Season 4, Episode 10, and it is now streaming on Paramount+, according to Variety and IGN.
The episode centres on Lt Nyota Uhura, played by Celia Rose Gooding. Gooding discussed the finale in an interview with Variety. In the story, her present-day Uhura communicates across time with the older Uhura from The Original Series, the 1960s series that launched the franchise.
For the scenes, Gooding wears the classic beehive-style haircut long associated with Nichelle Nichols’s Uhura. It is a direct visual link. No translation needed.
The finale jumps forward into an altered future for the starship Enterprise. In that timeline, Jim Kirk is captain of the Enterprise and is played by Paul Wesley. Spock, played by Ethan Peck, serves as his first officer.
The old crew has scattered. Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount, has been promoted to admiral. Erica Ortegas, played by Melissa Navia, is now a flight instructor at Starfleet Academy, the space-navy school that trains the fleet’s officers. Scotty, the ship’s engineer, is played by Martin Quinn.
What makes this stand out is the time mechanics. The finale features a change to the future Enterprise timeline, as noted by Screen Rant. Uhura is the point of contact between past and future.
For newcomers, the set-up is simple. Strange New Worlds follows Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, according to StarTrek.com. This season builds on the crew’s ongoing mission under Pike.
For fans, this means one chapter is closing and one remains. The series will conclude with its fifth and final season. That leaves a short run to resolve the new timeline and land the crew where history expects them.
In the United States, Britain, Latin America, Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Japan and Canada, the series streams exclusively on Paramount+. In the Nordics, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe, it streams on SkyShowtime. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
