TEG names Mark Dodds to lead TEG Live as Tim McGregor exits after 20 years

Tim McGregor is leaving TEG after 20 years with Dainty Group and TEG. The company confirmed his exit as part of a wider restructuring of its concert promotion business. McGregor, most recently global head of touring at TEG Live, will hand over to Mark Dodds in the coming weeks, Billboard reported.
TEG announced the new leadership line-up on Sept. 24. It described the changes as a “strategic reset” of its concert promotion activities. The aim, the company said, is to drive its next phase of growth with a sharper focus on touring across Asia-Pacific.
Dodds steps up as managing director of TEG Live. That puts him in charge of the day-to-day running of TEG’s main touring and promotion arm, the business that stages concerts and handles venues, tickets and logistics. He will keep his existing role as managing director of Handsome Tours.
The reshuffle also creates a new senior post for Paul Dainty. He becomes TEG president of touring and theatrical, with oversight of touring and stage shows across the group. Dainty remains chief executive of TEG Dainty, the promotion company he founded and which sits inside TEG.
TEG has recruited John Ranieri as chief information officer across the TEG Group. The role covers the company’s technology and information systems. Danny Rogers and Jerome Borazio continue within TEG. Rogers and Borazio are the co-founders of Laneway Festival and Laneway Presents, the festival and touring brand.
The changes follow an earlier move at the top. Cameron Hoy was promoted to chief executive of TEG with effect from June 1. TEG, which stands for Ticketek Entertainment Group, is an Australasian live entertainment company, IQ Magazine noted. It has been owned by investment firm Silver Lake since a 2019 deal worth more than A$1.3 billion.
For fans, this means a change of names on the office door rather than an immediate change to shows. Promoters work behind the scenes to book acts, hire venues and pay guarantees, the fixed fees paid to artists whether a concert sells out or not. TEG said Dodds will take over from McGregor in the coming weeks, giving the touring business a short handover period.
