Ed Sheeran has cancelled his two concerts at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, scheduled for 25 and 26 September 2026, because of a severe weather forecast.

Messina Touring Group, the promoter that puts on the tour dates, confirmed the cancellation after consultation with local officials, Rolling Stone reported. The company said the safety of fans, staff and everyone involved in the shows was the top priority. The news was reported on 25 September 2026, the same day the opening night was due to begin.

The two nights were part of Sheeran's LOOP Tour, according to the stadium listing, Gillette Stadium. The first show was due on Friday, 25 September, with the second due on Saturday, 26 September. Both were to be held at the Foxborough stadium.

The weather system at issue is a Nor'easter, a powerful storm that moves up the east coast of the United States. Forecasters expected it to sweep into New England during the weekend of the shows. Severe weather warnings were in place in Boston and across New England throughout the weekend.

Safety came first. The promoter linked the decision directly to those warnings and to discussions with local officials in the area.

Refunds will be available at the point of purchase. That means buyers get their money back from the same seller they bought from. People who bought through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically and will not need to apply separately.

For fans, this means checking the account or email used at the time of booking. Automatic refunds usually appear without further steps, while other sellers will give their own instructions. Anyone travelling to Foxborough will also need to change travel and accommodation plans.

Large outdoor shows depend on staging, power and safe movement in and out of the venue. When severe weather threatens, promoters and officials sometimes act before conditions arrive. That early call avoids last-minute travel into risky weather.

The cancellation removes both nights of the weekend stand. Fans holding tickets for either date are covered by the same refund arrangement.
