Apple Code Leak Reveals HomePod Mini 2, iPad Mini 8 and New Apple TV 4K

Identifiers and images for three unannounced Apple products have appeared in Apple's own code. The files were found by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris and cover a HomePod Mini 2, an iPad mini 8 and a revised Apple TV 4K, according to The Verge.
The timing fits the expected fall sequence. Apple introduced the iPhone 18 Pro and the folding iPhone Duo earlier in September and was expected to announce additional hardware before the end of the year.
The HomePod Mini 2 keeps a similar design to the original HomePod mini from late 2020. The leaked images show it in green, pink, blue, white and black. The size, shape and fabric cover look unchanged. Color is the visible difference.
The iPad mini 8 will replace the seventh-generation iPad mini from two years ago. The main change is silicon, the main processor chip. It moves from the A17 Pro to the A20 Pro used in the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and iPhone Duo. That brings the small tablet onto the same chip generation as Apple's current flagship phones.
Two hardware details stand out in the leaked iPad mini images. The front-facing camera has moved to the long, landscape edge of the tablet. There is also a groove on the top edge of the display, like the iPhone, which indicates an added speaker. Both details suit landscape use for calls, video and media.
The Apple TV update comes after a longer gap. The current Apple TV model is nearly four years old. The leaked new Apple TV 4K keeps a very similar design to its predecessor. No outside redesign is visible in the materials found so far.
Earlier reporting had pointed to this group of products. On July 28, Bloomberg reported that Apple was preparing a new TV set-top box and refreshed HomePod mini, according to Bloomberg. On September 14, MacRumors reported that a new Apple TV, HomePod mini and more were on track to launch this year, with Siri AI support for the new Apple TV and HomePod mini models, according to MacRumors. Bloomberg also reported a Siri AI smart-home hub would arrive alongside the box and speaker.
The broader context here is consolidation rather than reinvention. Apple is refreshing three mature products without large changes to industrial design, while bringing the smallest iPad onto current phone silicon. For developers, that chip parity matters more than the enclosures. It simplifies performance targets across iPhone and iPad mini, especially for camera processing, video work and on-device machine learning, where each generation adds useful headroom.
Looking at practical use, the iPad mini adjustments fit how the device is held for meetings and playback. A landscape camera and an extra speaker are a small ergonomic fix. They do not change what the product is.
In my view, the thread to watch is the living-room and home setup. A visually unchanged Apple TV and HomePod mini place the weight on software and how devices work together, including the Siri AI support noted in earlier reports. Leaks from code confirm existence and appearance, not launch timing or pricing. If these products ship as described, they extend the life of familiar designs and give developers and users more headroom without new interaction models to learn. That steady gain is often where lasting adoption comes from.
