Kylie Minogue sang suspended in the air above the Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 26, 2026, just before the AFL Grand Final. ABC News published video of the airborne performance that afternoon, posting at 2:27pm and updating at 2:41pm.

The decider pits Geelong, the Cats, against Brisbane, the Lions. It is the championship match that ends the men's Australian Football League season. Fans of both clubs streamed into the MCG through the morning, according to AFL.com.au.

Minogue headlined the Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment at the 2026 Toyota AFL Grand Final. Her set was listed as a 20-minute performance starting at about 1:30pm, in the lead-up to the first bounce. The match could be watched on Channel 7, according to ABC News.

Ahead of the show she spoke with AFL.com.au's Cal about post-goal songs, her role in 'The Wiz' and the idea of a Glastonbury-like MCG. That interview ran in August. It framed the Grand Final slot as a full-stadium music moment, not just a countdown to footy.

Promoters billed the performance as "the biggest spectacle ever seen" at the venue, according to Billboard. Minogue is no stranger to the ground. She previously played the MCG on December 3, 2022, with Paul Kelly, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs.

What makes this stand out is the staging. Grand Final singers usually stay on the turf. Minogue went up. For newcomers, that is the point of the pre-game show. It fills the cauldron while 100,000 people wait for the ball to be bounced.
