GWAR founding member Chuck Varga, The Sexecutioner, dies at 68

Chuck Varga, a founding member of GWAR who performed as The Sexecutioner, has died at the age of 68 after a battle with cancer.
His death was announced by GWAR bassist Casey "Beefcake The Mighty" Orr, Rolling Stone reported. Varga's wife is named Bambi. He was 68.
Varga was also a founding member of Slave Pit Inc., the organisation that designed GWAR's onstage costumes, artwork and overall design. In that workshop he helped create the costume worn by GWAR singer Dave "Oderus Urungus" Brockie.
GWAR is a Richmond, Virginia band built around horror-inspired costumes, characters and stage theatrics, often described as shock metal or shock rock. Varga took on the Sexecutioner role in 1987 and played the character in concert for over a decade.
He also sang on record. Varga performed lead vocals on GWAR's track named for the Sexecutioner character, and on "RagNaRok," the title track from the band's 1995 album of the same name.
The death was reported on Sept. 24, 2026, according to Consequence. No further details about funeral arrangements were included in the reports available on Sept. 26.
