Musk producer joins AI filmmakers at Zurich Summit debate

A producer on Alex Gibney's Musk documentary shared a stage with makers working entirely with artificial intelligence at the Zurich Summit in September 2026.
Nick Shumaker, Vania Schlogel, Zack London and Nick Holt appeared together on a panel about the implications of AI for film, according to Deadline. The session brought finance, production and AI-native filmmaking into one conversation. That mix is rare.
The panel was titled "How AI Transforms Creativity", according to Deadline. It sat inside a wider Zurich Summit programme covering AI, streaming, finance and distribution, as listed by the Zurich Film Festival.
Shumaker is head of AC Independent at Anonymous Content and a producer on Gibney's documentary Musk, according to Deadline. The film used very little AI in production. Its Elon Musk avatar was built with human-made CGI, which means images created by artists on computers, with AI used only in post-production for lip-synching.
Schlogel is founder and managing partner of Los Angeles-based Atwater Capital, according to Deadline. Atwater Capital is a private equity firm, a company that invests in businesses, as described by Deadline. Schlogel became Chief Strategy Officer of AI creative platform Magnific in summer 2026. Magnific was formerly known as Freepik.
London directed the fully AI-generated science-fiction anthology Gods Don't Give Gifts, according to Deadline. He is also known under the YouTube pseudonym Gossip Goblin. Holt directed AI: Probably Nothing to Worry About.
The Summit has an official Program and Speakers page hosted by the Zurich Film Festival, which lists Schlogel among its speakers. Other announced participants include Edward Berger, Robbie Brenner, Oliver Berben and Janine Jackowski, according to the Zurich Film Festival.
What makes this stand out is the range on one stage. One film kept AI to a finishing tool. Another was built with it from start to finish. The money people were in the room too.
