Lindsay Lohan and Henry Golding to Lead Netflix Romance Return to You
Lindsay Lohan will produce and star opposite Henry Golding in Return to You, a romantic feature for Netflix, Deadline reported on 28 September 2026. Lohan takes the central role and a producer credit on the project. Golding takes the male lead opposite her.
The director is a familiar one. Mark Waters will direct Return to You, according to Deadline. He previously directed Lohan in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, the early-2000s comedies that helped establish her screen career.
The setting is 2008. Lohan plays a powerful but lonely attorney who mistakenly receives an emotional DVD, a recorded message sent by a dying woman to her husband. She soon realises the disc was never meant for her. She sets out to find the intended recipient, the husband played by Golding.
The script comes from screenwriter Eric Champnella, Deadline reported. Brad Krevoy will produce the film. Olivia Krevoy, Jimmy Townsend and Galen Fletcher will serve as executive producers, the senior credits who oversee creative and business decisions alongside the main producer.
What makes this stand out is the reunion. Lohan and Waters have not made a feature together since those early hits. For fans, this means a familiar pairing returns in a very different register, a romance about grief, chance and connection.
