Animation's awards race has a new meeting point.

ASIFA-Hollywood has announced ASIFA-Showcase, a two-day FYC event built around screenings, panels and presentations. It is set for 14-15 November, as reported by Deadline. FYC is industry shorthand for for-your-consideration, meaning events that put work in front of awards voters before nominations open.

The venue is the Audrey Irmas Pavilion in Los Angeles. The showcase will run as part of Infinity Festival Hollywood, a four-day festival. One address. Two crowds. Voters can move from showcase sessions to the wider festival without a second trip across town.

The early guest list is wide and covers streamers, broadcasters and feature houses in a single programme. Named participants include Apple TV, Crunchyroll, Disney/Pixar, Disney Television, IFC, LAIKA, Marvel Animation, Netflix Animation, Paramount+, Sony Pictures Animation, Tierney Corp, Universal Pictures/DreamWorks Animation and Warner Bros. Animation.

The host is well known to animation crews. ASIFA-Hollywood is the California nonprofit organisation that produces the Annie Awards. Its executive director is Aubry Mintz. The Annie Awards were created by June Foray.

Recent history explains why studios turn up early for voter events. At the 2026 Annie Awards, KPop Demon Hunters won in all 10 categories in which it was nominated. It then won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.

The next cycle is already dated. The organisation lists the 54th annual Annie Awards for Saturday, 20 February 2027, according to ASIFA-Hollywood.

What makes this stand out is logistics. Awards campaigns depend on turnout, and a shared showcase puts work on a big screen with its makers in the room rather than as a link in an inbox. That matters to the teams behind each title, from artists and writers to the crews of up to a few hundred people who carry a production.

For fans, this means an early read on the season. The films and series that play in Los Angeles in November are the titles that intend to campaign through February.
