Paul McCartney Joins Judd Apatow for Man on the Run Q&A

Paul McCartney sat down with writer-director Judd Apatow for a 45-minute conversation after a Los Angeles screening of 'Man on the Run' on Monday night.
The talk followed a full showing of the film. Variety reported details of the evening on 29 September. The night belonged to McCartney's years after the Beatles.
The venue was the Ted Mann Theater at the Academy Museum. The screening was staged as an FYC event, industry shorthand for for-your-consideration screenings organised for awards voters. Director Morgan Neville joined McCartney and Apatow for the post-screening discussion.
The room was full. Organisers counted 275 attendees at the event. Neville directed the documentary, which centres on Wings, the band McCartney formed after the Beatles split.
'Man on the Run' covers McCartney's post-Beatles period from 1970 to 1980. It was released on Amazon Prime earlier in 2026 alongside an accompanying book. Amazon MGM Studios lists the title as a Prime Video original movie and describes it as a feature documentary.
The story starts where the Beatles story ends. The film documents McCartney's life following the break-up and the formation of Wings. That question of what came next was the focus of the Los Angeles discussion, according to Billboard reporting on 29 September.
McCartney's official website had announced "Man on the Run" as a new film coming in February 2026. It arrived on Amazon that month, as PaulMcCartney.com confirmed. A companion release, "Man on the Run (Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack)", was issued on CD under the name Paul McCartney and Wings.
For fans, this means a rare chance to hear McCartney reflect in person on a decade that gets less attention than the 1960s. No new project was announced on the night. The conversation stayed on the music, the break-up and starting again.
