Donna Gigliotti and Mike Farah elected to lead Producers Guild of America

Film producer Donna Gigliotti and comedy producer Mike Farah have been elected presidents of the Producers Guild of America.
They succeed Donald De Line and Stephanie Allain, who had led the Guild since 2022, according to Variety.
The Guild is the professional trade association for producers. It describes itself as a non-profit trade organisation with a community of more than 8,400 members, according to the Producers Guild. Membership is not automatic. It is based on recognised producing credits and years in the industry.
Gigliotti brings a long feature film track record to the role. She produced Shakespeare in Love, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Picture, according to TheWrap. She was the third woman to win that award. She later received Best Picture nominations for The Reader, Silver Linings Playbook and Hidden Figures.
She has also worked inside film institutions. Gigliotti served a six-year term on the Board of Governors of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, where she was Governance Chair and Finance Chair.
Farah comes from comedy and digital production. He won three Emmy Awards and was Funny or Die's first producer starting in 2008. He stayed with the company for nearly two decades before recently becoming an independent producer.
His credits include Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and @fter Midnight. He is also executive producer of Between Two Ferns, according to Deadline. There is a neat link at the top. Earlier in his career, Farah worked as an assistant to Allain, one of the outgoing presidents he now replaces.
What makes this stand out is the pairing. One president built her career in prestige features. The other built his in online comedy and late-night television. Together they will now speak for producers across both worlds.
