Niall Horan has marked 10 years of 'This Town' with a personal note to fans and a promise of more to come.

The singer shared the anniversary post on Sept. 29 on Instagram, 10 years after the single's release. It centres on a carousel, a swipe-through set of images and clips, of behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the song's early days. The message opens with a simple line: 'This Town was released 10 years ago today.' Instagram

The post appeared on his official account, @niallhoran. That account is where he posts release news and tour updates direct to followers.

'This Town' was Horan's debut solo single after One Direction's 2015 hiatus. A hiatus is a break from group activity. Horan called it the first song he released on his own.

The chart run is documented week by week. The song entered the Billboard Hot 100, the United States singles chart, at No. 63 in October 2016. It jumped to No. 25 in its second chart week. It then reached its peak of No. 20 in January 2017. Billboard

On streaming, Horan gave his own figure in the message. He said 'This Town' has passed one billion streams. That count covers plays across streaming services, not sales of downloads or discs.

He closed with two lines for listeners. 'It was my song and now it's ours.' Then: 'happy 10 years of 'This Town.'' No long speech. Just thanks.

What makes this stand out for listeners is the hint of what comes next. Horan said he has 'a few special things' in the works to celebrate the anniversary. He gave no dates, titles or formats in the post.

The anniversary follows an earlier marker. In September 2024 he posted a live performance video from Madison Square Garden in New York to note eight years of 'This Town.' On 'Flicker,' his debut solo album, the track is listed at No. 2, behind opener 'On The Loose.'

Live work continues around the milestone. His official site lists a performance on Oct. 10, 2026 at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark as part of Dinner Party Live On Tour. Official site
