Heated Rivalry producers launch real-life Irina Foundation

The fictional charity from Heated Rivalry is becoming a real one.
Executive producers Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady have launched the Irina Foundation through their production company, Accent Aigu Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter reported on 30 September.
Executive producers are the senior bosses behind a series, guiding it creatively and financially. Tierney and Brady know that machine from the inside. They are now using their company banner to build something beyond the screen.
The new body is described as a private, independent fund. In plain terms, it raises and holds its own money and decides where that money goes. Its stated purpose is to champion LGBTQIA2S+ and underserved communities through participation in sport and the arts.
The emphasis is on taking part. The fund will support organisations that create opportunities for queer and underserved communities to play, to create and to foster belonging. Access sits at the centre of that idea. It is about who gets onto the pitch, onto the stage and into the room.
The name will be familiar to readers. In Rachel Reid's Game Changers universe, the Irina Foundation is the fictional foundation run by Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov. The real-life fund draws directly on that invention. It is named in honour of Ilya Rozanov's late mother, Irina.
That link is deliberate. A story about care now funds care in the real world. The line between fiction and action is short.
Backing is already in place. Fashion label Kate Spade New York is the inaugural donor, meaning the first to make a founding contribution. Men's grooming brand Harry's is named as an early supporter. First money matters for a new charity. It lets a fund start giving while longer-term support is built.
The launch follows a run of joint fundraising. In recent months Accent Aigu, working with partners and fans, has raised more than $1.5 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Recipient groups include You Can Play, the New York LGBTQ Center and Rainbow Railroad.
What makes this stand out is the loop it creates. Fans rallied around fictional characters. That energy now has a formal home. The structure can keep raising and distributing money after the credits roll.
