Ajay Devgn says Hindi Drishyam ends with The Conclusion on Oct 2

Ajay Devgn says the Hindi Drishyam story stops here. The actor told Variety he is confident Drishyam 3: The Conclusion clears the bar set by its predecessors ahead of its release on Oct. 2.
Devgn plays Vijay Salgaonkar, the cable operator whose family cover-up drives the thrillers, Variety reported. The new film is written and directed by Abhishek Pathak and picks up directly where Drishyam 2 left off. Tabu returns as IG Meera Deshmukh and Shriya Saran returns as Nandini, according to India.com. The Oct. 2, 2026 theatrical date was confirmed in August by The Hollywood Reporter India.
It ends here. Devgn said the Hindi-language franchise finishes definitively with the third film, with no loophole left for a return, Variety reported. He said the Hindi script is completely different from the Malayalam Drishyam 3. That Malayalam version opened earlier in 2026 and grossed INR239 crore ($25 million) in India, Variety reported.
Pathak told Variety in an exclusive interview published Sept. 9 that Vijay turns darker in the finale. Devgn added that the twists are unguessable, Variety reported. Short line for viewers: expect no hints.
The wider series continues elsewhere. Panorama Studios holds the Hindi and international remake rights to Drishyam and is developing Korean, Spanish and English versions, Variety reported. That work covers remakes, meaning new casts and languages, not a continuation of Devgn's Hindi storyline.
Devgn spoke to Variety on the sidelines of the FICCI-Frames media industry conference in Mumbai. He also discussed the future of artificial intelligence in film. His comedy Golmaal 5 is complete and will arrive in January, he said.
For fans, this means Oct. 2 is a farewell. Two films built the puzzle. The third is meant to close it.
