Lee Raybon is back in Tulsa with two bodies, a sheriff's department and his estranged father to deal with.

FX has released the full trailer for Season 2 of The Lowdown, which premieres Oct. 14 with two episodes on FX and Hulu. The remaining episodes will roll out weekly, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The series was created by Sterlin Harjo and stars Ethan Hawke as Lee Raybon. FX describes Lee as a citizen journalist, meaning he chases and publishes stories outside a traditional newsroom.

Season 2 drops him into a new investigation in Tulsa. The trailer points to two confirmed murders and questions around the sheriff's department. Lee soon realises the case is bigger than it first looked.

He is pulled in by Ginger, played by Betty Gilpin. Ginger is a public defender, a lawyer appointed to represent people who cannot afford one. She asks Lee for help with a mystery involving one of her clients, and that request opens the season's central case.

Family runs alongside the investigation. Tommy Lee Jones joins the cast as Lee Sr., Lee Raybon's estranged father. Keith David plays Marty.

Gilpin and Jones are new for Season 2, as previously reported by Deadline. The returning cast includes Kaniehtiio Horn, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Killer Mike, Michael Hitchcock, Macon Blair, Siena East, Cody Lightning and Jude Barnett. Martha Plimpton guest stars. Kyle MacLachlan also makes a brief appearance in the trailer.

Behind the camera, Harjo serves as showrunner, the person with final creative control over the season. He executive produces with Garrett Basch, Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Duffy Boudreau and Scott Teems. FX Productions is the studio, according to FX.

The trailer is available to watch on YouTube via FX's official channel.

For viewers catching up, this means a clean new case in Tulsa but the same set-up: a stubborn truth-seeker, a reluctant ally and trouble close to home.
