Prince William's Earthshot Prize is heading to Prime Video.

Hello Magazine reported on 1 October that the awards will stream on the platform for the first time ever Hello Magazine. The update appeared in its royal live blog for Thursday 1 October, which paired Prince William's broadcast news with Prince Edward's international trip. A celebratory gala for 5,000 guests will follow in Mumbai on 17 November.

The Mumbai night has a film, sport and music guest list. Rami Malek, Sachin Tendulkar, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor and Simone Ashley are all named for the gala in the same blog. The 5,000 figure was given as the planned size of the celebration.

The Earthshot Prize was launched in 2020 by Prince William and Sir David Attenborough. It recognises new solutions to climate change and damage to nature, a plain environmental prize with five winners each year. The winners are chosen from a shortlist of finalists put forward from around the world.

The money is serious. Each of the five winners receives £1 million to help scale their work Earthshot Prize. Last year's prize was held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and spotlighted 15 finalists.

Prince William had been in Rio that week to stage the 2025 awards. Hello Magazine reported that Rio trip in its live blog in November 2025. The 2025 awards night included performances from Anitta and Gilberto Gil, who were announced in advance for the ceremony.

For viewers, this means a simpler way to watch. The awards will sit in the same app as drama and film, rather than in clips passed around afterwards.

Separately, Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, was reported as set to arrive in Toronto for an official visit. Hello Magazine carried that Toronto update in the same 1 October blog. The Royal Diary lists the Duke in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 1 October 2026 Royal Diary.

Earlier planning had described the Canada leg as following time in the United States. Reports on 25 September put onward travel to Canada on Friday 2 October, after the American leg of the tour. In Toronto, the Duke will visit the Lassonde Art Trail Royal Central.

The Diary also lists Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, at Windsor Castle on 1 October. She will attend a reception for the Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals, an international golf charity. The couple's diary therefore puts them in two different places on the same date, Toronto and Windsor.
