PMK Entertainment Names Erik Bright to Lead Film and TV Publicity

PMK Entertainment has named veteran publicist Erik Bright as its executive vice president of content and strategic communications.
The appointment, reported by Variety on 1 October 2026, hands Bright leadership of the agency's film and television campaigns. He will be based at PMK's Los Angeles headquarters. An executive vice-president is a senior leadership rank, sitting near the top of a company's management structure.
In the post, Bright will oversee PMK's content publicity team, the staff who organise press coverage, premieres and interviews for films and series. He will report to Dennis Dembia, PMK's president of strategic communications, working under chief executive Cindi Berger. In plain terms, Dembia sets the wider communications direction and Bright runs the day-to-day push for film and TV titles.
Bright joins after 16 years as president and chief executive of Prodigy Public Relations. He founded Prodigy in 2009 and led it ever since. He will bring his Prodigy content and portfolio with him to PMK, consolidating that work inside the larger agency.
His career as a film publicist and corporate media strategist spans more than 25 years. That second title is industry shorthand for someone who advises companies, not just individual films, on how they present themselves in the press. It is publicity for the business itself, alongside publicity for what it releases.
Before Prodigy, Bright was a partner and vice-president at Insignia PR and Media Strategy. He began his career at Eddie Michaels & Associates. Both are publicity businesses, so the path from junior staffer to partner to founder follows the usual agency ladder.
Recent campaigns led by Bright include Hamnet, Black Bag, California Schemin' and Skywalkers: A Love Story.
For people who watch films and shows, this is a behind-the-scenes appointment. You will not see Bright's name on screen.
What makes this stand out is continuity. When a publicist brings an existing portfolio to a new house, the relationships and campaigns move too. For the crews and casts involved, it means the person guiding their launch stays in place. Only with a larger team behind him.
