Paul Thomas Anderson premieres Cameron Winter concert film at NYFF

Paul Thomas Anderson has premiered a 75-minute concert film about singer-songwriter Cameron Winter at the New York Film Festival, Variety reported on Oct. 2, 2026.
Titled Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall, the film documents Winter's sold-out solo performance at Carnegie Hall on Dec. 11, 2025. The show began at 8 PM, according to the hall's listing.
Winter performs alone. He sits at a Steinway grand piano for the full set.
Winter is the frontman of Geese, a New York rock band. Carnegie Hall describes Geese as a New York rock band and Winter as a Brooklyn musician who released a debut solo album.
That solo record is titled Heavy Metal. It arrived in 2024, Variety reported.
Anderson shot the Carnegie Hall performance on film. The production used 35mm and 16mm, Variety reported in August.
It is his second music-performance film. The first was 2015's Junun.
The festival rollout centred on a large-screen presentation. The film was set to debut on Oct. 1 at Alice Tully Hall, Variety reported.
That screening was scheduled to be presented on 35mm. Anderson and Winter were expected to attend.
Film at Lincoln Center also lists Oct. 12, 2026 in connection with Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall. The listing does not give further release details.
For audiences, the shape of the project is simple. One musician. One piano. One historic hall. And a director capturing it without interruption, on celluloid.
