Andy Robertson is one game away from joining Scotland's 100 club.

The left-back has 99 caps, which means international appearances, and is expected to make his 100th against North Macedonia in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening, according to the Scottish FA. Only one man has done it before.

That man is Kenny Dalglish. He tops Scotland's all-time list on 102 caps, per BBC Sport. Dalglish also jointly holds the scoring record. He hit 30 goals for Scotland, level with Denis Law.

Robertson's journey started a long way from this milestone. Gordon Strachan gave him his debut in March 2014 in a win over Poland. Robertson was 19 then, a Dundee United left-back just starting out.

Four years later came the armband. Alex McLeish made him Scotland captain in 2018 after Scott Brown retired. Robertson was 24 and had only 22 caps at the time.

He has worn it ever since. Robertson is the only man to have led Scotland out at three major finals. He played 68 times under Steve Clarke, all of them as captain.

There was one outlier along the way. He played a single game under interim boss Malky Mackay, a friendly against the Netherlands at Pittodrie in 2017.

John McGinn is next in line behind him. The midfielder sits eight caps behind Robertson on the all-time list. The full order is laid out in a BBC Sport feature headlined 'Robertson set to hit 100 Scotland caps - but who else makes top 10?'

The Nations League, UEFA's competition that runs between major tournaments, is the stage for it. North Macedonia are Scotland's next opponents in the tournament.

What makes this stand out is the staying power. Twelve years. Four permanent managers. Three tournaments as captain. For fans, this means a shared moment on Saturday, the kind where a whole end applauds a number on the board before a ball is kicked.
