Harry and Meghan step out for Cotswolds pub lunch in first joint outing

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, were photographed walking hand in hand to lunch at a Cotswolds pub in their first joint outing since returning to Britain.
The pub was The Falkland Arms in Great Tew. The Sun published exclusive photos of the Thursday stroll to the pub, while People reported it as the couple's first joint outing with photos since their move. The Express also reported on 2 October that the pair had been spotted going for a meal there.
Harry and Meghan kept it casual. She wore navy blue straight jeans and a black sweater, according to Hello!. He wore light-wash denim jeans, a grey T-shirt and a puffer jacket, topped with a Santa Barbara fire department cap.
The setting is pure Cotswolds. The Falkland Arms is a 16th-century pub in Great Tew. The building is made from honey-coloured local ironstone, with flagstone floors, oak beams and an inglenook fireplace.
The lunch follows a return. Harry and Meghan returned to the UK in August 2026, and hope to build a new life in the Cotswolds. Reuters reported on 17 September that Harry had made his first public appearance since returning to Britain after six years away.
It is the second pub sighting in quick succession for Meghan. Last month the Duchess, 45, was photographed enjoying an afternoon outing with longtime friends and former Montecito neighbours Ellen DeGeneres, 68, and Portia de Rossi, 53. That meeting, reported by Yahoo, took place at The Three Horseshoes pub in Burford.
What makes this stand out is its ordinariness. No red carpet. No announcement. Just a thatched local, a lunch date, and a very public hand-hold. For fans, this means the clearest picture yet of what the couple's Cotswolds life could look like.
