Livingston pauses Daily Wire's Pawn Shop shoot after complaints

Filming on Daily Wire's Pawn Shop has been temporarily suspended in Livingston, Montana, after a unanimous vote by the city commission.
The Livingston City Commission passed the suspension during a special meeting on Saturday, according to Deadline. The vote was unanimous. The meeting took place on Saturday morning, the Livingston Enterprise reported.
The motion was raised by Commissioner Cindy Daniels. It immediately pauses the permit held by Bonfire Pawn Shop LLC while the city seeks a legal opinion on whether to amend, suspend or revoke it. The matter must return to the commission no later than 5:00pm on Oct. 5.
The production had been scheduled to film in downtown Livingston through Oct. 10. That calendar is now on hold.
Police Chief Wayne Hard told the commission that police have received complaints on a daily basis since production began. No violence has been reported. The Livingston Food Resource Center said road closures and armed security guards outside its building, across from the set, had increased barriers to accessing food.
Pawn Shop is the working title, the temporary name used during shooting, for the Livingston production. It is described as an immigration-enforcement fiction set in Minneapolis, Minnesota, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. Deadline has described it as a pro-ICE movie. Local protesters have gathered in Livingston over the production.
A call sheet for the shoot lists Danny Trejo, Harvey Keitel and Henry Thomas among the cast. The production is not under a contract with IATSE, the union that represents film and television crews, and is working under a conditional start with SAG-AFTRA, the actors union.
The commission will now wait for the legal opinion before deciding the permit's future.
