The Belgian Royal Palace has released a new portrait of Prince Emmanuel of Belgium to mark his 21st birthday. The image was posted on the royal family's official @MonarchieBe social media accounts, according to Hello! Magazine.

Prince Emmanuel, the third child of King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, turned 21 on 4 October 2026. He was born on 4 October 2005 in Anderlecht, as listed by the Belgian Monarchy.

Twenty-one. A milestone birthday, and the Palace marked it with a photograph, not a ceremony.

The new portrait was taken at the Royal Palace of Laeken near Brussels. The Palace of Laeken is the family's main residence on the outskirts of the capital. The photograph was captured by Bas Bogaerts.

In the picture, Prince Emmanuel stands outside and smiles at the camera. He wears a checked blazer over a blue shirt and chinos. Relaxed. Smart.

The Palace captioned the photo: "Hip hip hip, hooray! Prince Emmanuel is celebrating his 21st birthday today!" That message went out alongside the portrait on social media.

The monarchy's official website also published a new photo of the prince for the birthday, according to its homepage.

For royal-watchers, this is a rare, close-up look at the king and queen's youngest son. Portraits like this are how the Palace notes family milestones. No parade. Just a new image, a name, a date — and a birthday cheer.
