Pam Levine has left Netflix after a year and a half as vice-president of marketing and publicity for the US and Canada, Variety reported on 5 October 2026. She managed press and promotion for every Netflix film and series in the region.

Levine joined the streamer in April 2025 and reported to chief marketing officer Marian Lee. Her Netflix tenure lasted eighteen months in total.

That is a wide brief. Publicity covers press, red carpets and festivals. Marketing covers trailers, posters and advertising.

Before Netflix she was marketing chief at Disney General Entertainment in 2022. There she led an in-house agency handling talent relations, awards, social media and creative marketing across Disney+, the linear channels and National Geographic. Linear channels means traditional broadcast and cable channels rather than streaming.

She knows the cinema machine well. Prior to Disney she was president of worldwide theatrical marketing for 20th Century Fox Film, the department that sells cinema releases to audiences around the world. She also served as chief marketing officer of HBO, overseeing merchandising, licensing, digital marketing and strategy for HBO and Cinemax, and in March 2021 she joined BookClub, a virtual book club platform, as chief marketing officer.

Levine rose through Fox. She and Tony Sella were promoted to co-presidents of domestic theatrical marketing, domestic meaning the United States and Canada, in 2002, Variety reported. In 2016 chief Stacey Snider named her worldwide marketing president as her first major hire, a return to the studio where she had built her name, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She was appointed head of marketing for Disney Branded Television and National Geographic Content in June 2022, Variety reported. She left that post in March 2025 when Disney restructured and moved her responsibilities under the president of Disney Entertainment Television, Variety reported.

What makes this stand out is range. Her career spans cinema, pay television, broadcast and streaming, plus a start-up. For viewers, the work is mostly invisible. It decides which trailer you see, which billboard you pass and which stars turn up to talk about a new show.
