Clockwork label to join merged Paramount Warner Bros

Warner Bros' Clockwork label will move to the merged Paramount Warner Bros company known as Skydance, Deadline reported on Oct. 5, 2026. The switch keeps the studio's home for edgy, moderate-budget films inside the bigger group.
Clockwork appeared on an internal list of Warner Bros labels shown in-house at Paramount. Other label chiefs stay in place. James Gunn and Peter Safran remain in charge of DC and Richard Brener remains in charge of New Line.
All film label heads will report to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein. That structure puts the old Warner labels and the Paramount film teams under the same two executives.
Clockwork is a specialist banner, a small team inside a studio set up to make particular types of films. It was launched by former Warner Bros motion picture bosses Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy with Christian Parkes, the former chief marketing officer at NEON. The idea was an entry point for edgy film-makers working at moderate budgets, with an original target of two to three films a year.
Its first theatrical release will be a 4K restoration of The Devils, the 1971 film directed by Ken Russell. It is due to screen on Oct. 16. That is a change from earlier trade announcements which had pointed to a 2027 original as the launch title.
The pipeline moving across includes Ti Amo!, financed by FilmNation, and Park Chan-wook's western The Brigands of Rattlecreek. Clockwork picked up North American rights — the licence to release the film in the United States and Canada — out of the Cannes market for mid-teen millions of US dollars, Deadline reported. The western stars Matthew McConaughey, Austin Butler, Pedro Pascal and Tang Wei. The slate also includes a Sean Penn-directed feature about the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.
Clockwork will sit alongside Paramount's global acquisition division and Republic Pictures, led by Lia Buman. Republic was the label behind September 5, the thriller about the Munich Olympics attack that earned an Oscar nomination in 2024. It also acquired the Cannes title Midnight Library with Canal+ in a deal worth 36 million US dollars for domestic rights and most foreign rights.
Clockwork was first presented to cinema owners at the annual convention of theatre owners, Variety reported in April 2026. At that stage the banner had set Ti Amo for 2027, ScreenDaily reported. Producer Oddfellows, whose credits include Backrooms and Longlegs, later signed a deal with Clockwork, Variety reported in July.
For fans, this means the art-house bets keep their branding. They just play under new ownership.
