MacLellan out as Skydance reorganises international

Kevin MacLellan will not stay on to run international for the enlarged Skydance.
The decision, reported on 6 October 2026, leaves open the top job overseeing business outside North America. That covers distribution, the selling and licensing of films and shows to cinemas and broadcasters abroad. Variety
David Ellison and Ynon Kreiz want to thoroughly reorganise that international side of the newly formed Skydance organisation. The merged Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery entity will be called Skydance, according to Deadline. The name follows an earlier step, Skydance's $8 billion acquisition of Paramount, which closed in August 2025 and created Paramount Skydance Corp, according to Variety.
MacLellan had only recently taken charge of that brief. He assumed the role of Paramount's president of international and global content distribution in 2025. His exit comes as the new owners redraw the map.
He arrived with long experience in the job. He served as NBCUniversal's president of international television from 2011 to 2013, then as chairman of global distribution and international from 2013 to 2020. Early in that run he was set to relocate from Los Angeles to London as part of Comcast's restructuring of NBCUniversal International. He later stayed on through a transition period after his departure was announced in 2019.
The international change is part of a wider leadership sort. Casey Bloys, Dana Goldberg, Josh Greenstein, James Gunn, Peter Safran, George Cheeks and JB Perrette are set to continue their roles in the newly formed Skydance Corp. Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group heads Pamela Abdy and Michael De Luca will not join the new company.
There is another vacancy in the picture. Gerhard Zeiler is president of international for Warner Bros. Discovery. He has announced his intention to bid for leadership of Austria's ruling Social Democratic Party.
For viewers, this means little on screen right now. Deals, dates and schedules keep moving. The people signing them are changing.
