Netflix hands Women's World Cup 2027 production to IMG

Netflix has handed production of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 to IMG.
The company, whose president is Adam Kelly, will make coverage of all 64 matches. It will also deliver more than 100 hours of studio programming around the games, as reported by Deadline.
The tournament runs in Brazil from June 24 to July 25. Thirty-two national teams will compete across those 64 matches. In the United States and Canada, every game will stream exclusively on Netflix, meaning subscribers will not find the live coverage on any other service in those two countries.
Language options are set by market. Viewers in the U.S. will get coverage in English and Spanish, while viewers in Canada will get it in English and French. Viewers can stick with one feed for the whole tournament.
Production here means the practical work behind what appears on screen. IMG will organise the match feeds, the studios, the presenters and the wrap-around shows. That includes previews, half-time discussion and post-match reaction.
It is a large operation. Live football leaves no room for a retake. Every match has to be captured cleanly the first time.
Netflix will also stream the Final Draw live. That is the event that decides the tournament groups. It will be available on all Netflix subscription plans, according to Netflix Tudum, so no upgrade is needed to watch it.
The rights deal behind all this was announced in December 2024. It made the Women's World Cup the first competition to be acquired in full by Netflix, Reuters reported at the time. The 2027 edition is Netflix's first exclusive live football coverage.
The commitment runs beyond 2027. Netflix also holds exclusive rights to the 2031 FIFA Women's World Cup in the United States and Canada, according to Netflix Tudum. That keeps two tournaments in a row in the same place for fans in those countries.
For fans, this means a simple setup. One subscription, one place to find every game. Pick a language, follow your team from the opening match through to July 25, and catch the Draw first to see where the road starts.
