Ricki Lake to Return in Lifetime Susan Powell Film

Ricki Lake will return to acting as Judy Cox in Lifetime's She Married Her Murderer: The Susan Cox Powell Story, which is scheduled to debut in early 2027, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. She will play the mother of Susan Cox Powell in the television programme.
The cast is set. Matreya Scarrwener will portray Susan Cox Powell, Mike Dopud will play her father Chuck Cox, and Jonathan Whitesell will play her husband Josh Powell, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The four roles form the central family at the heart of the film.
Elisabeth Rohm will direct the film for Lifetime. The script was written by Waneta Storms. Lifetime has dated the premiere only as early 2027.
Rohm will also serve as an executive producer with Kara Feifer for Rohm Feifer Entertainment. Timothy O. Johnson and Meghan Hooper White are additional executive producers on the project, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Bruce Harvey is producing for CMW Autumn Productions Inc. in association with Studio TF1 America Inc. and Rohm Feifer Entertainment.
The role ends a break from screen acting for Lake. Her last credited acting role was in the 2021 Lifetime holiday film Under the Christmas Tree. That gap spans five years.
For viewers, this means a familiar face in a very different kind of role. The casting puts Lake back on Lifetime, the same network that carried her most recent film, this time in a true-crime story built around a family.
